MMF Mostly Modern Orchestra with Concerto Competition Winner

Our Mission

Mostly Modern Projects (MMP) boldly celebrates living composers and the vibrant world of modern classical music—flipping the traditional model on its head. Through dynamic performances, transformative educational initiatives, inspiring community outreach, and world-class recordings, MMP is reinventing classical music for the 21st century and ensuring that fresh, engaging music by today’s composers becomes a vital part of everyday life.

Our projects span the globe, including the Mostly Modern Festival each June at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, and Mostly Modern Festival | The Netherlands every April in historic Middelburg, Zeeland. These international festivals foster real-world opportunities for musicians to collaborate side-by-side with distinguished faculty and world-class talent—opening doors beyond traditional career paths and empowering musicians to build lives rooted in passion and purpose.

Beyond the concert hall, MMP brings modern music directly to communities throughout New York State and beyond, from hospitals and senior centers to children’s programs, parks, and public spaces—creating meaningful connections through the music of our time. Founded in 2005, Mostly Modern Projects is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to championing living composers, nurturing artistic innovation, and inspiring audiences worldwide.
