Robert Paterson

American composer Robert Paterson is the Artistic Director and co-founder of Mostly Modern Projects. Paterson’s colorful music embraces everything from the environment to goddesses, online dating, and mathematics. His music is filled with emotion and fierce energy, marked with elegance, wit, and meticulous craftsmanship. Named Composer of the Year by the Classical Recording Foundation at Carnegie Hall, Paterson was the winner of the Alfred I. DuPont Award, and his opera Three Way won the Grammy® under Best Classical Producer of the Year. His music is often a Best of the Year pick on National Public Radio. His orchestral tone poems, Dark Mountains and Triple Concerto, regularly air on APM’s Performance Today. Three Way premiered with the Nashville Opera, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and across the United States. The Oratorio Society of New York, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Louisville Orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic, Musica Sacra, Albany Pro Musica, the Vermont Symphony, the Austin Symphony, and ensembles worldwide perform his music.
Paterson is a lifelong vegan and environmentalist, celebrating the natural world with seminal works such as his Triple Concerto, A New Eaarth, Listen, and I Go Among Trees.
Robert Paterson is a leading figure in classical music, having given back to the world of new music through the founding of Mostly Modern Projects in 2005. Because of Mostly Modern, thousands of composers of all ages and all backgrounds have experienced community and camaraderie with world premieres, videos, recordings, and countless friendships & opportunities.
Victoria Paterson

Victoria Paterson is the General Director and co-founder of Mostly Modern Projects. She is a violinist equally comfortable with classical, popular, and the healing arts. She performs everywhere, from Carnegie Hall, Birdland, and Madison Square Garden to Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Today Show. Victoria spans a 20-year career on Broadway, including full-time positions at My Fair Lady, Sunset Boulevard, West Side Story, The Addams Family, and Heathers.
Victoria leads the ever-popular FAB5 and delivers vital programs to senior centers, hospitals, and Alzheimer’s patients, as well as to iconic public spaces and parks with ‘rush hour’ and ‘lunchtime’ concerts that are free and open to the public. Victoria brings joy with in person live music from everywhere from concert halls to cafes, to community centers.
