Amir Farid, winner of the 2006 Australian National Piano Award, is a US born Iranian-Australian who resides in both New York City and Melbourne, Australia. The performance the US Premiere of Ice Man by Australian composer Stuart Greenbaum, which is a musical representation of the experience of Aussie adventurer James Scott who was stranded in the Himalayan mountains for 43 days and somehow survived. The program will include a special New York Premiere of Robert Paterson’s work Joy Ride for Solo Piano.
