PROJECTS

Mostly Modern Festival (MMF) is an international music festival at the Arthur Zankel Music Center in Saratoga Springs, New York, that celebrates the diversity of modern music with world premieres alongside 20th and 21st century classics. The MMF Institute - open by application - provides world class artistic & educational experiences to performers, composers, and conductors. Participants perform side-by-side with distinguished faculty in the Mostly Modern Orchestra as well as vocal and chamber music concerts.


In partnership with Muziekschool Zeeland, Mostly Modern Festival | The Netherlands is the European edition of the USA-based Mostly Modern Festival. Located in historic Middelburg, Zeeland, MMF NL shines an international spotlight on modern music every April. Musicians from across the globe collaborate and celebrate world premieres alongside 20th and 21st century classics. Events include exquisite, curated culinary experiences as well as modern dance and art, all in connection with the music. Concerts take place at the iconic & stunningly gorgeous acoustic hall, Zeeuwse Concertzaal and the Oostkerk..


Mostly Modern Concerts is active year-round, featuring world-class talent from Carnegie Hall, Broadway, and Lincoln Center, performing family-friendly, free and vital music programs to greater New York City and Saratoga Springs. Our concerts reach audiences at hospitals, senior centers, parks, public spaces, community centers, children’s programs, and more. Free and open to the public, they can be found everywhere from The Oculus World Trade Center and Chelsea Market to The Center on Aging at Cornell Weill, and Mount Sinai Hospital. Saratoga venues include Caffe Lena, Yaddo Gardens, Congress Park, High Rock Park, Saratoga Visitor Center & more.


The Paterson Prize provides funding for arts organizations to celebrate the music of American composer Robert Paterson. The prize ensures a lasting legacy by creating opportunities and fostering relationships and partnerships between individuals, ensembles, and arts organizations that want to collaborate and perform Paterson’s music worldwide. Winners receive funding that may be used toward performances, commissions, recordings, video, and sheet music rental/purchases of Paterson’s music and more.


American Modern Ensemble (AME) is a world-class ensemble specializing in contemporary classical music via lively thematic programming since 2005. AME uses a variety of instrumentalists, singers, and conductors, and often features house composer and founder Robert Paterson. AME has received critical acclaim in The New York Times, Time Out, and The New Yorker, among others. Their concerts frequently play to sold-out crowds at BAM, Merkin Hall, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall as well as Subculture, The Actor’s Chapel, and multiple unique sites in partnership with On Site Opera.


American Modern Recordings (AMR) is a boutique label specializing in contemporary classical music, with an emphasis on music by living composers. Our critically acclaimed, beautifully recorded albums have received outstanding reviews in Gramophone, The New York Times, NewMusicBox, Sequenza21, and numerous other publications.
